“We come crawling through these cracks, orphans, lobotomies; if

you ask me what I want, I'll tell you. I want everything. Whole rotten

world come down and break. Let me spread my legs.”

Kathy Acker, ‘pussy, king of the pirates’, 1996

Fatemeh Heidari (b. 1987, Tehran, Iran) holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sculpture from Tehran University and a Master’s degree in Visual Arts and Post-Contemporary Practice from AKV St. Joost in Den Bosch.

Her artistic process blends improvisation, storytelling, and material performativity, working across diverse media including drawing, sculpture, print, performance, and photography. These explorations often culminate in installations. She delves into the concept of "becoming" a dynamic, ever-changing state shaped by subjective and symbolic elements, often drawn from nature and human experience. Embracing the “unwanted” outcomes of freestyle practice, she navigates the space between two distinct cultures. Through her work, she reflects on her position while addressing contemporary issues such as power dynamics, gender equality, and inclusivity.
